DETOX SWITZERLAND, DETOX EUROPE
10 Years Roma Jam Session Art Kollektiv

With the exhibition DETOX SWITZERLAND, DETOX EUROPE, the Kai Dikhas Foundation celebrates the tenth anniversary of the Zurich-based artist collective RJSaK Roma Jam Session art Kollektiv, with whom Kai Dikhas has been on friendly terms since its inception. In artistic interventions, mostly interactive performances with the audience and with pointed typographic posters, the collective, consisting of the artists Mo Diener, RRMarki and Milena Petrovic, deals with the detoxification of society from racism, exclusion and especially antiziganism. The group quickly became known beyond the borders of Switzerland. RJSaK performed their performative choreography CHROMA - the Future is Roma - We Pass the Mic to Europe at the Roma Pavilion of the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019 and took part in the First and Second Roma Biennale Berlin in 2018 and 2021.

The exhibition DETOX SWITZERLAND, DETOX EUROPE - 10 years of RJSaK Roma Jam Session art collective shows posters, costumes, performance video documentations of the group and thus gives an insight into the artistic world of RJSaK that, starting from Zurich Dadaism to contemporary Roma Futurism. It provides the audience with delicate aesthetic means for a peaceful coexistence and against the toxicity of racist populism.

At the end of October 2022, the collective published its extensive art publication, Morphing the Roma Label, its artistic strategies and ideas and the contexts of the current political atmosphere in the context of Switzerland's minority politics, the collective's activism. The publication shows the artistic realisation of the collective's commitment in many pictures and analytical, as well as poetic texts in German, English and Romanes by:  RJSaK, political philosopher and friend Michael Felix Grieder and art theorist Suzana Milevska. At the beginning of December 2022, RRMarki Mustafa Asan, founding member of the group, passed away completely unexpectedly. The exhibition DETOX SWITZERLAND, DETOX EUROPE is dedicated to him.
